Far from the high-octane action of the Indian Premier League, Cheteshwar Pujara who is currently representing Sussex in the County Championship Division Two clash against Gloucestershire in England was involved in a big mix-up which led to his run-out and thus missing his well-deserved century.
Coming into bat at the number four spot for Sussex in the first innings, the side was coming off a strong partnership between the opening batter, Tom Clark and Tom Alsop. The former was dismissed by the right-arm pacer, Dominic Goodman after scoring 53 in 124 balls.

Pujara showcased his class by bringing up a crucial half-century as they aimed to level the massive score of 417 set by Gloucestershire. However, following the fifty, he looked in good touch and was likely eyeing up a century. But what followed was an absolute disaster of a mix-up between the two batters.

Pujara had driven the delivery by Goodman towards the cover region and proceeded to take the single. The fielder at the deep was running towards the boundary from the point region but was able to get the ball in time. By then, the batters had already run for the double and Pujara likely did not notice that the fielder had picked up the ball as he looked to go for the single but the non-striker denied the run and was unable to get back into the crease on time.

The batter put in the dive but went in vain as he was dismissed which even left the player disappointed in himself. Pujara was still lying down on the ground following the dismissal understandably frustrated by the poor dismissal there from the reputed international batter.
