RCB will be left gasping for air, as the fiery 21-year-old Mayank Yadav ripped through the core of RCB’s batting ranks, blitzing through them for a three-wicket scalp as he led LSG to a 28-run win over Bengaluru today.
His Player of The Match blitz of Bengaluru’s batting lineup comes after his previous Player of the Match performance, as the 21-year-old has undoubtedly risen as one of the biggest finds in the IPL this season.
Yadav, with his relentlessly menacing pace, scalped the likes of big hitters Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Rajat Patidar, as he notched up a magical spell of 3/14 in 4 overs.

“Feel really good, two Player of the Match awards in two matches. I am happier that we won both the matches. My goal is to play for the country. I feel this is just the start. I enjoyed Cameron Green’s wicket the most,” said Mayank Yadav in a post-match interview after LSG’s win over RCB.
Yadav missed the entirety of last season due to injury issues, and now comes into the new season a sharper and wiser man, with a keen focus on fitness.
“There are a lot of factors to bowl quick – diet, sleep, training. I am focusing a lot on my diet and recovery – ice bath,” said Yadav.
LSG skipper KL Rahul had nothing but praise for the rising youngster and also reiterated his dedication to staying fit and mastering his craft as he plays more.
“One ball hit me really hard, so happy to see Mayank bowl the way he’s been bowling in the last couple of games. He’s quietly patiently waited for two seasons in the dug-out, missed out last year because of injury unfortunately. But he’s been in Bombay with the physios working really hard,” said KL Rahul.
“He understands that bowling 155 is not easy and in a young age, he’s had a few injuries. He’s really professional in looking after his body, it’s really good to see and has a great temperament. Enjoying seeing him bowl from probably 20 yards behind the stumps, that’s where I’d like to be when he’s bowling”.
