Allrounder Ravindra Jadeja has entered the T20 mode for the IPL 2024 having linked up with his franchise Chennai Super Kings for a pre-season camp. Jadeja recently played an important role in India’s 4-1 thrashing of England in a five-match Test series at home.
Jadeja has formed a successfull partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin in India colours with the the spin duo making life difficult for the visiting teams. The pair took a combined 45 wickets between them during the England Tests with Ashwin finishing as the leading wicket-taker of the series.

Weeks after teaming up for India’s dominant show, the two now find themselves in opposing camps with Jadeja set to represent defending champions CSK while Ashwin Rajasthan Royals over the next month in the IPL 2024.
Days before the season opener between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the title holders have shared a clip of Jadeja cheering for his India teammate Ashwin after the offspinner achieved two milestones during the England series.
Ashwin became the second Indian bowler after the legendary Anil Kumble to take 500 or more wickets in Test cricket before completing a century of Tests later in the series.
“Hi Ash Anna! Congratulations on your 100 Test matches and 500 Test wickets,” Jadeja said in the clip shared by CSK on their official Instagram handle. “I am very happy for you. Your contribution to the Indian cricket team has been amazing. I wish you continue taking lots of wickets and also sharing your mastermind with me so that I can also keep taking wickets and become a great legend like you.”

Jadeja then gave his fans a pleasant surprise by speaking in Tamil.
“Meesa Vechavan Indran, Meesa Vekkathavan Chandran (The one with the moustache is Indran. The one without the moustache is Chandran,” said Jadeja while referring to an iconic dialogue from an old Rajnikanth Tamil movie called Thillu Mullu.
“Nalla irukku, Ash, Romba nalla irukku, Ash! (Looking good, Ash. Looking very good!),” he added.
Ashwin was recently felicitated by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) for his feats during the England Test series.
India head coach Rahul Dravid was present at the event and praised Ashwin for inspiring an entire generation of young spinnrs.
“I hope he is not finished. He has moved the craft of spin bowling through his hard work, dedication and innovation. That’s a great legacy to have. Fantastic! Well done and inspired a whole generation of young spinners,” said Dravid.
“He always has the desire to contribute to the team’s success. Have really enjoyed my time with him The good thing about him is that he challenges you, and as a coach, you want that. Looking forward to more such memories with him. He is one of a kind,” he added.
