The crowd at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow were taken aback when leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi plugged an extraordinary catch to send Kane Williamson back to the dressing room. As Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) look to register their first win against Gujarat Titans, the KL Rahul-led side left no stone unturned to accomplish their mission.

After setting the visitors a 163-run target, the Super Giants were under the pump for a while as Gill and Sai Sudharsan stitched a 54-run opening stand in the Powerplay. But once Yash Thakur cleaned up the GT skipper to break the partnership, the visitors were all over the place.
Came the seventh over when Bishnoi came into the attack and bowled a fuller delivery to Williamson. The Kiwi stalwart got forward to on-drive but ended up chipping it in the air. Bishnoi flew to his right in his followthrough and plucked the ball out of thin air.

Earlier, Marcus Stoinis smashed his first fifty this season while Nicholas Pooran played a cameo towards the end to guide LSG to 163/5. Opting to bat, the hosts rode on Stoinis’ 58 off 43 balls and his 73-run stand off 62 balls with skipper KL Rahul (33 off 31) for the third wicket to propel LSG.
It was an eventful first over from Umesh Yadav (2/22) as, after being dispatched over deep backward square leg boundary by in-form Quinton de Kock in the second ball of the innings, he got his man a ball later.
Stoinis got a reprieve on 43 and the Australian cashed in on the chance with both hands, clobbering Nalkande over his head for a maximum and in the process brought up his fifty in 40 balls. He then cleared Nalkande over wide long on for another six but the young bowler had the last laugh as he got his man in the next ball, caught by wicket-keeper BR Sharath as the batter went for another maximum.
Pooran gave the final flourish to LSG innings with an unbeaten knock of 32 runs off just 22 balls, including 3 sixes.
