Pakistan suffered a shocking defeat by 10 wickets against Bangladesh in the first Test of the ongoing two-match series played in Rawalpindi on Sunday (August 25). After the hosts could only manage to score 146 runs in the second inning, Bangladesh was asked to chase down a 30-run target on the fifth day to win the first-ever Test against Pakistan, and they achieved the objective without losing a wicket in 6.4 overs.
After the match, a video went viral on social media, which has hinted that all is not well in the Pakistan dressing room. In the viral clip, Pakistan captain Shan Masood can be seen standing next to star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi during a team huddle when the 24-year-old removed his arm from his shoulders.

This video comes a day after Shan was seen getting into an animated chat with head coach Jason Gillespie in the dressing room.
Shan, who was appointed as Pakistan’s Test captain last year after Babar Azam stepped down from his role, is yet to win a red-ball match. In fact, under his leadership, Pakistan has lost all four Tests played so far.
The first ever Test defeat against Bangladesh has also dented Pakistan’s hopes of qualifying for the World Test Championship (WTC) final next year at Lord’s. The first defeat by 10 wickets in the red-ball match played at home has dropped Pakistan to No. 8 position in the WTC 2023-25 points table.
Can Pakistan save the series?
After losing the first Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan would like to make a comeback in the second match, which is also set to take place at the same venue from August 30 onwards. Pakistan last won a Test match at home in 2021, and it won’t be an easy job for them to win the second Test and save the series.
After the Bangladesh series, Pakistan will host England in a three-match series in October.
