WATCH: Shah Rukh Khan Wins Hearts of CSK Fans at Chepuak After KKR Lifts IPL 2024 Trophy

A lot of Chennai Super Kings fans were in attendance at Chepuak to enjoy the Indian Premier League (IPL) featuring Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Thanks to a dominant performance across departments, KKR had the last laugh in the epic clash to clinch their third IPL title. After the victory was sealed, the co-owner of the Kolkata-based franchise, Shah Rukh Khan, joined his players in the victory lap, coming down on the pitch. While waving at the crowd in Chennai, SRK was spotted a section of fans chanting “CSK…CSK.” The Bollywood Baadshah stopped in front of the particular stands and won over the home supporters with a humble gesture.

A fan was able to capture the beautiful moment and dropped the video later on social media. In the widely viral clip, Shah Rukh Khan was seen taking a round of the MA Chidambaram Stadium. He was accompanied by his wife Gauri Khan and children– Aryan, Suhana and AbRam. Bollywood actress Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor were also part of the group.

Once SRK heard the CSK chants, he came forward to address those fans. In an unpredictable move, the veteran actor went on to cheer for the five-time IPL champions with the local people. SRK, recognised for his down-to-earth personality, also pointed at his heart, showcasing his admiration and mutual respect for the Chennai-based side. The crowd certainly loved his gestures as they embraced the moment with a big round of applause.

It was undoubtedly a memorable occasion for Shah Rukh Khan, who shares a great bond with the KKR unit. Since lifting the IPL title in 2014, the team has had to wait for a decade to replicate the success. Despite their underwhelming performance over the past few seasons, SRK didn’t change his habit of attending the majority of the matches. He was always there to support the KKR players during their tough times.

KKR have put up a dominant performance throughout the 2024 IPL season. They lost only three matches in the league stage and clinched the top spot in the points table. Guided by the legendary Gautam Gambhir, the Shreyas Iyer-led side continued the momentum in the playoffs. They got the better of SRH in Qualifier 1 before overcoming the same opponents in the summit showdown to claim the IPL title.
