‘Oh say, can you see?’ Well, President Joe Biden sure did, as the White House addressed the USA Cricket team’s success so far in the T20 World Cup and conveyed a special congratulatory message for the squad.
In a mystical turn of events, the USA, led by Suarabh Netravalkar, has risen up the ranks of international T20 cricket and has taken the T20 World Cup by storm so far, clinching two wins out of their three played matches in the group stages and securing qualification for the Super Eight stages.
The USA Cricket Team shared a clip of National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby congratulating and appreciating their efforts in the esteemed T20 World Cup, on their official X account.
Their tweet read, “Thank you @WhiteHouse National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby for your kind words. We’ll be sure to use your encouragement as motivation for our upcoming matches in the West Indies!”

Kirby can be heard addressing the media in a press conference, and when asked about the unprecedented and unforeseen success of the USA team, elaborated on his and President Joe Biden’s joy upon the same.
“We all congratulate them on their success. It’s tremendous and we are all cheering them on. Congratulations to them, I saw that they are in the Super Eight now. It’s amazing,” stated Kirby.
USA are now slated to take on the Proteas, South Africa, who topped Group D through victories in all four matches, including surviving scares against the Netherlands and Nepal.
Despite the seemingly apparent superiority that South Africa boasts in terms of talent and experience, SA skipper Aiden Markram chooses to remain humble and not underestimate the over-achievers USA, stating that the hosts have proven to be more than a small team.
“They’ve been really good. I think not just them but a lot of the people will sort of say smaller nations, but they’ve proved that they’re not a small team anymore. So, we’re going to 100 per cent have to be on our best game and hopefully things go well, but I’m excited for that challenge,” stated Markram.
