GATE 2024 was conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore on February 3, 4, 10 and 11. The answer key for the same will be out on February 16

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore is all set to release the provisional answer key for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 on February 21, according to the official schedule. Students who appeared for the exam can check the response sheets for GATE 2024 on the official website of the Indian Institute of Sciences at gate2024.iisc.ac.in, on February 16. The institute conducted the GATE 2024 on February 3, 4, 10 and 11.

Candidates can raise challenges against the answer keys once made available from February 22 to February 25. However, the result for GATE 2024 will be declared next month i.e., on March 16.

Candidates must note that for each wrong answer, one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that multiple choice question will be deducted as a penalty. However, no negative marking is given for Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. Moreover, if a question is left blank, there will be no penalty for that question.

GATE 2024: How To Download Answer Key

Step 1: Go to the official website of IISc Bangalore at gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Step 2: Look for and click on the link that says, “Download GATE Provisional Answer Key 2024” on the homepage.

Step 3: Upon clicking, a new window will appear where candidates need to enter their login credentials such as enrollment ID, password, and captcha code.

Step 4: Once done, hit submit and your IISc GATE Answer Key 2024 will be displayed on the screen.

Step 5: Save a copy of the GATE Answer Key 2024 for future use.

The GATE 2024 was conducted for 30 papers that comprised Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions. The paper was divided into two sections – General Aptitude and specific Subjects selected by the candidate. The exam was held for a duration of three hours in two shifts. The first shift was from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the second session was conducted in the afternoon from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

The distribution of marks in all Papers except papers AR, GG, MA, CY, DA, EY, PH, ST, XH and XL is 15 marks for General Aptitude, 72 marks for subject questions and 13 marks for Engineering Mathematics, whereas the distribution of marks in papers AR, GG, MA, PH, CY, DA, EY, ST, XH and XL is divided into two- 15 marks for General Aptitude and 85 for subject papers.
