There’s no bigger satisfaction for parents than seeing their child winning in life. One such story is that of Balbir Singh, who spared no effort for his children’s bright future. Hailing from Arjun Nagar (Agra), he alongside his wife earned a decent amount to sustain a living. The duo didn’t shy away from working night shifts, putting in extra hours to earn around six thousand rupees monthly. Balbir and his wife provided their children with quality formal education. Both their children did great in school and now work as Sub-Inspectors in the UP Police. Balbir Singh’s determination and hard work are indeed inspiring and can set examples for others.
Balbir Singh worked as a contract labourer for Torrent Power. His job involves digging lines and connecting wires, earning him a daily wage of Rs 200. Despite this modest income, Balbir faces financial challenges to support his family. To meet other requirements, he was often seen working overtime.
From sacrificing personal comforts to working tirelessly throughout the day, he made every possible effort to secure a better future for his children. His son, Shashank Kamlesh and daughter, Simran Kamlesh have been selected for the post of Sub-inspector in UP Police in the passing out parade held on March 13 at Mirzapur Police Academy. His son is currently posted at Jankipuram police station in Lucknow.
Shashank, who was selected for the post of Sub-Inspector, said in an interview: “I have completed my 10th and 12th studies from Government Inter College, Shahganj. After this, I pursued BTech from RBS Bichpuri. It was when I was working in a private firm, I started preparing for competitive exams”. He was selected as the Sub-inspector on the first attempt. His daughter had graduated with a BSc from Agra College and further completed a degree in MSc from SS College Malpura.
Simran Kamlesh received a medal for scoring decent marks in BTC. She cracked the Teacher Eligibility Test and the SSC CGL exam. She did well in the first two exams, but faced difficulties with the third. Initially, she wasn’t keen on taking the UP Police exam but gave it a shot and got selected on her first attempt.
