The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has stepped up its recruitment efforts and announced an increase in vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) in 2024. In a revised notification issued on July 4, the RRB declared an increase in vacancies from 5,696 to 18,799, providing a significant opportunity for many professionals. The revised vacancy distribution for all zonal railways is now available on the official website, indianrailways.gov.in.

The official notice states, “Candidates are advised to modify their option of chosen RRB and preference of Zonal Railway(s) within opted RRB if required. The link for modification will be live shortly for a period of 10 days only on the official websites of all the RRBs.”

The RRB is preparing to hold the Computer-Based Test-1 (CBT-1) in August. The official exam dates will be revealed soon. Candidates can anticipate receiving their RRB ALP Admit Card 2024 about ten days before the scheduled CBT-1 date. This CBT assesses a candidate’s mental abilities, which include problem-solving, analytical capabilities, and a rudimentary understanding of computers.

Successful candidates from the CBT stages will undergo document verification to establish eligibility and a medical assessment to assess their fitness for the job. Furthermore, the authorities have asked the applicants to keep visiting the official websites of RRBs for more information related to the recruitment process.

In order to be eligible for the RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) Recruitment 2024, aspirants must be between the ages of 18 and 30. It is important to use the same date of birth in the application as on the Matriculation/SSLC certificate. Requests to change the date of birth later will not be considered, and any discrepancy may result in disqualification. Providing accurate information is critical for a successful application process.

Candidates must have passed their Matriculation/SSLC and obtained an ITI certificate from a recognised NCVT/SCVT institution in the trades of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, and Mechanic. They could also have a Matriculation/SSLC with a three-year diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engineering, or a mix of these engineering disciplines from a recognised institution, rather than an ITI.
