The Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu has postponed the exam dates for the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2024 due to technical reasons. The exams were earlier scheduled for June 7 and June 8. The new examination dates will be announced soon by the university. All the candidates appearing for TNSET 2024 are advised to keep an eye on the official website at msutnset.com.

“It is informed that the State Level Eligibility Test (SET) examination scheduled on 07th and 08th June 2024 is postponed due to technical reasons. The revised date will be intimated later,” the official notification reads.

Manonmaniam Sundaranar University will release the new admit cards for the examination soon after announcing the revised dates for the TNSET exam 2024 on its official website. The TNSET 2024 exam is being conducted by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University for those aspiring to work as Assistant Professors in Colleges and Universities within Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu SET 2024: Exam Pattern

The TN SET 2024 exam comprises two papers, that is, Paper 1 and Paper 2 which will be conducted in CBT (computer-based test) mode and with a total duration of three hours without any break.

Paper 1 will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions, based on General Knowledge, Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, and other skills. For every right answer, the candidates will be awarded two marks, while no marks will be deducted for any wrong attempt.

Paper 2 will be subject-specific and will have 100 MCQ-based questions based on the candidate’s chosen postgraduate subject from the list of TN SET subjects. Two marks will be rewarded for every right answer, while there will be no negative marking.

To pass the exam, students belonging to the general category must score at least 40 per cent aggregate in both papers. For all other categories (Other Backward Class, Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste, and others), the minimum qualifying mark is 35 per cent aggregate in both papers.
