It is said that the journey to success may be filled with ups and downs, but if there is determination, then anyone can reach great heights. Such a story is of an IFS officer who faced failure multiple times, but kept on studying with full determination and finally succeeded in clearing the toughest exam in the country in 2022. He secured an All India Rank of 90 and became an IFS officer. The person we are talking about is IFS officer Pawan Gupta.
IFS officer Pawan Gupta hails from Agra, Uttar Pradesh. He belongs to a modest business family. After completing his schooling he pursued Mechanical Engineering from NIT Durgapur. During his college days, he got the inspiration to clear the UPSC examination. Due to financial constraints, he had to work for a car manufacturing company. While working for the company, Pawan became more determined to get his dream job. In 2016 and 2016, he took the preparations while doing the job but failed on both occasions. In his first two attempts, he failed to crack the Prelims exam. In 2017, he made another attempt, but again failed to cross the prelims stage.
In 2018, he cracked the UPSC and IFS prelim exams at once, but still failed to reach his goal. He then took a year and applied for multiple jobs. He ranked 17th in the Indian Engineering Services (IES), following which he joined Indian Railways in the position of Assistant Manager. IFS Pawan Gupta was stationed in Kapurthala, Punjab.
In 2020, IFS Pawan Gupta again appeared for the exam and qualified for the interview but failed to crack it. Due to his training, Pawan decided not to appear for the examination in 2021.
