Celebrated designer Mayyur Girotra celebrates the revival of old-world fabrics in an heirloom piece designed for Sara Ali Khan.

Sara Ali Khan graced Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s Ganesh Darshan at Antilia in a timeless couture lehenga set.

A piece fit for a true Indian princess, added festive cheer to Sara Ali Khan’s impeccable style. The custom heirloom lehenga, a vision of couturier Mayyur Girotra, who also considers Sara his forever favourite muse, crafted this masterpiece from vintage brocade saris he collected over the years.

A melange of hues embracing Sara’s vibrant personality, the lehenga was paired with a tissue silk dupatta adorned with pure zardozi zari embroidery. The ensemble showcased the rich heritage of Indian textiles and Mayyur’s passion for reviving old world fabrics.

Forever traditional and timeless, the ensemble was styled by celebrity fashion stylist Ami Patel. Sara accessorised with traditional jewellery pieces consisting of a choker, jhumka earrings and a ring.

Sara’s hair was styled in soft waves and adorned with roses, styled by hair designer Daksh Nidhi. Sara’s minimal makeup that highlighted her expressive face was done by makeup artists Aditya Sharma and Devanshi.

Sara took to Instagram to share a series of images captured by photographer Ajay Kada. The images beautifully captured Sara’s elegance in the traditional masterpiece. One of the images, also featured her brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan looked dapper in a kurta set designed by ace couturier Raghavendra Rathore. She even captioned the post in true Sara style. She wrote, “We are nothing but space dust trying to find its way back to the stars… so while we’re here, let’s sprinkle our stardust.”

Sara’s heirloom lehenga set the tone for the festive and wedding season. Both the blouse and skirt can be styled separately and is one vibrant ensemble that’s never going out of style.
