'An Internal Matter. I Will Deal With it': Ten Hag After Rashford Spotted at Nightclub Ahead of FA Cup Clash
Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag insisted that Rashford was absent from the fourth round FA Cup clash due to illness despite the player reportedly being spotted at a nightclub before the fixture.

Erik ten Hag has stated that the situation regarding Marcus Rashford’s absence for the FA Cup fixture against Newport County will be dealt with after Manchester United secured the 4-2 victory to progress to the next stage.

The manager had mentioned previously that Rashford was not available for the fourth-round fixture due to an illness on Friday. But reports elsewhere had suggested that the English attacker had spent an evening at a nightclub in Belfast, Ireland after which he missed training with the squad.

The boss was quoted saying, ‘He reported ill,’ ahead of the FA Cup fixture which his side managed to get the win and make it through to the fifth round of the tournament.

However, the manager did not reveal the details and insisted that” The rest is an internal matter. I deal with it, we will deal with it.”

The United boss had also previously revealed that there was ‘no good culture’ during his arrival at the club and also had to deal with disciplinary issues during his tenure with United.

Among the players that have fallen out of favour with the manager, winger Jadon Sancho has returned to his previous club, Borussia Dortmund in a loan deal earlier.

Rashford has also had disciplinary issues previously, notably ahead of the match against Wolves last season where the player had turned up late to a team meeting due to him oversleeping.

Pressed on his latest issue with Rashford, Ten Hag said: “I don’t go in this case. We talked before about it, we played a good game, and now we move on.”

United managed to hit the net twice in the first half, thanks to goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo. But, Newport County’s Bryn Morris and Will Evans managed to score and put United under the pressure of another humiliating defeat. Luckily, Antony managed to find the net after a long spell while Rasmus Hojlund also struck in the final stages to United’s relief.

The trio of Casemiro, Martinez and Shaw were back in the starting eleven after being out due to injury while Harry Maguire managed to make a cameo appearance in the second half.

The manager will be hoping that the return of the experienced group of players can boost the team in the Premier League and the FA Cup.
