London: Aston Villa are looking to sign in Chelsea's Demba Ba as a replacement for Christian Benteke, according to Daily Star newspaper.
Villa are expected to make £25m from the sale of Benteke and they want to make the most of it as Demba Ba will cost only £7m. The Senegal striker doesn't feature in Jose Mourinho's scheme of things and has managed two Premier League goals following his January move to Stamford Bridge from Newcastle United.
The trio of Benteke, Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann were effective for Villa last season especially in the last months and they would look to fill in the void after Benteke's exit from the club.
Prior to his move to Chelsea, Ba more than proved himself as a consistent Premier League striker with seven goals in ten starts for West Ham and 29 goals in 57 appearances for Newcastle.
