Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan said on Tuesday.

Central Para-military forces will be responsible for the polling stations while local and state police would look after the law and order in farther distances. Control by the central forces would continue till the end of the elections.

Deputy Election Commissioner Anand Kumar said the polling personnel have already started moving into far-flung areas and the coordination between different central forces and the state police have also been reviewed.

Added security measures have also been taken, no cycle messenger or water carrier will be allowed inside any of the booths.

Election Commission on Tuesday had expressed confidence that the third phase Assembly elections in West Bengal's three districts would go smooth.

"It will be a peaceful, free and fair poll," Balakrishnan told reporters after reviewing the poll arrangements for the 76 seats with district magistrates, superintendents of police and election department officials of the three districts at a high-level meeting here during the day.
