Barcelona: Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes has conceded that Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Getafe has left his side in a difficult position in a race for the La Liga title. A Juan Valera header late into the second half proved the difference as Getafe condemned Pep Guardiola's side to their first defeat of the season.
Barca are now six points off the top of the table, following Real Madrid's 4-1 victory over Atletico Madrid, and Valdes admitted that his side face an uphill task to regain the league leadership from their bitter rivals.
"This is the first defeat of the season, and we did not expect it," the keeper told the press after the match. We knew we had to win here and that did not happen."
"There are many matches left. Madrid are on a good run and they are getting victories. We have to continue and raise our heads because we have two matches coming up.
"The distance [to Madrid] is considerable, but we have to continue fighting."
