New Delhi: The famed German football club Bayern Munich is scheduled to play here in January next month for a friendly match against Indian national team, the All India Football Federation said on Friday.
India are also playing two more international friendlies - against Zambia on November 19 and against South Africa in Johannesburg on January 7 - besides the two matches already announced against Malaysia on November 13 and 16.
Because of these matches, the I-League schedule will have to be rejigged, it was decided in the I-League Committee meeting here today.
The Committee decided that AIFF's Developmental Team Pailan Arrows will not be relegated from the I-League.
It was clarified in the meeting that the I-League clubs would be responsible to organise their respective home matches and they are free to tie-up with either an event management company or the state association.
The demand of the clubs to enhance the organisational subsidy to Rs. 1 lakh would be circulated to the members of the Executive Committee whereupon a decision would be reached.
The clubs requested IMG Reliance - AIFF's marketing partners - to give them more marketing opportunities for the enhancement of their revenue earning.
The clubs have been given the permission to take on ground sponsor activation rights like presence of cheerleaders, meeting and greeting of players by fans before a match. They have also been allowed branding of Bibs of ball boys, stretcher bearers and photographers.
It was also decided that a Core Committee would be constituted by AIFF from the members of the I-League Committee with five representatives each from clubs and Executive Committee members to address various issues of I-League as and when required during the course of the tournament.
The clubs have also been given permission to register players till the end of second transfer window of February 15 next year.
