London: Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed the future of captain Cesc Fabregas will be decided 'very quickly.' Samir Nasri is also understood to be close to leaving the club.
The Frenchman told the club's official website a decision on where the midfielder will be playing next season - either at the Emirates or the Nou camp in Barcelona - could be made before the start of the Premier League season, after media reports suggested a deal could be reached before the start of Arsenal's game against Newcastle at the weekend.
"That is completely the truth," Wenger said.
"We hope it will be sorted out very quickly one way or the other.
"We'll know very quickly."
If sold, the 24-year-old will be making a return to the Catalan giants after joining the north London club when he was a Barcelona trainee.
Samir Nasri is also understood to be close to leaving the club, and his boss is hopeful that his future will also be resolved before the trip to St James' Park.
He added: "The Nasri situation is stable.
"Again it is very difficult to speak about possible transfers but we are in a situation where we have to make decisions one way or the other.
"Ideally you want it to be sorted out before the season starts."
