I-League: Arrows look to maintain winning run
Pailan Arrows would look to maintain their winning momentum when they face United Sikkim.

Kolkata: Having picked up a win in the previous round after suffering fives losses and a draw, Pailan Arrows would look to maintain their winning momentum when they face United Sikkim in a Round 18 I-League fixture at Kalyani on Monday.

The youthful Arrows, who had defeated Shillong Lajong 1-0 in the last round, occupy the eighth position with 18 points from 16 matches. They take on the Bhaichung Bhutia-owned side who held star-studded Mohun Bagan in their last outing.

"United Sikkim are in the relegation zone and that will make our opponents come hard at us. So we have to be extra cautious against them," Arrows' assistant coach Sujit Chakraborty said. Our side will be rejuvenated with the return of striker Holicharan Narzary and defender Souvik Ghosh. This will give more options to our side and we will look to continue the winning form we have gained after beating another north-east side (Shillong Lajong FC) in the previous match," Chakraborty said.

"Ours is a developmental side and it is good sign if the top clubs show interest in our players. I wish that the players get regular opportunity to show their talent. As for us Souvik Gosh will have to take more responsibility in the central defence in absence of Prathamesh," Chakraborty said.

United Sikkim is under the charge of young coach Nathan Hall, who is looking to steer the side out of the woods. They have 11 points from 17 matches and will have to dish out some really good performance to get off the relegation zone.
