However, the Elephants are unsure whether he will be fit to play in the World Cup in South Africa which starts on Friday.
"The necessary surgical intervention has been a success," the Ivory Coast football federation said on its website (www.fif-ci.com) on Saturday.
The federation added that medical staff were confident Drogba would make "a rapid return to football".
The Chelsea striker hurt his elbow in a World Cup warm-up against Japan on Friday and there were initial fears he would miss the tournament.
