PSG are weighing up a summer swoop for Rooney, but it will take a bid of 40 million pounds for Old Trafford chiefs to consider a deal.

Manchester: Manchester United's determination to keep their star striker Wayne Rooney is likely to be tested this summer, with French giants backed by Quatri openers Paris Saint-Germain giving serious consideration to making move for the England striker.

The French league leaders want to sign another star forward to strengthen their attacking line-up and have want Rooney to partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Rooney, 27, will enter the last two years of his contract at Old Trafford in the summer and a bid of at least 40 million pounds can tempt 19 times EPL champions.

PSG is owned by the Qatar Investment Authority (QSI), which has bankrolled a spending spree aimed at making it one of Europe's top teams. In less than a year, PSG has spent nearly 100 million pounds on new players.

On the other hand Manchester United have been continuously linked with Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and if the rumours are true than we can see him partnering Robin van Persie at the start of new season.
