Mumbai: I-League club Mumbai FC on Thursday added forward Josimar da Silva Martins to their squad.
The Brazilian scored 13 goals in 23 I-League matches for Mohammedan SC which was the second highest tally last season.
"Josimar is a fantastic signing for us. He will provide a focal point for all our attacks and I see him scoring a lot of goals for us this season. He is a confident lad. Besides his sterling work up front, his link-up play too is really good," Mumbai FC head coach Khalid Jamil said.
"Josimar brings with him vast experience of playing in the I-League as well as robust and consistent performances over the past few seasons."
Josimar's previous clubs include Mohammedan SC, Salgaocar and Prayag United in India and Ponte Preta and Clube de Regatas in Brazil.
"It's going to be really exciting playing for this club. Mumbai FC has always been a difficult team to beat. I, along with my new team-mates, want to help the club move higher up the table," the 30-year-old Josimar said.
"I look forward to working with Khalid Jamil and (team manager) Henry Picardo. I-League is getting stronger by the season with better players and more professional clubs coming into the fray."
