Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations started on Tuesday, September 19. The 10-day-long festival is being held with great enthusiasm all over India. It will be concluded on Thursday, September 28. The festival marks the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesh, who is known as the god of wisdom, wealth and fortune. It is mainly celebrated in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country. This year, many are choosing eco-friendly idol alternatives. Instead of buying plaster Paris idols of Lord Ganesha, they have opted for materials like clay and paper. People across the country have found innovative ways to mark the occasion. A student of Fashion Technology named Savitru, who hails from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu did the same. He is a skilled miniature sculptor. Recently, he has carved out a Lord Ganesha idol on the tip of a pencil. The micro-sculpture artist has created many types of creatures and shapes on soap, pencils and stones. He has carved more than 400 figures on the tip of the pencil so far.

The most astonishing thing about this artist is that he can carve different types of birds, animals, gods, freedom fighters, and even actors from Tamil cinema or Hollywood, without even using an extra pair of lenses. This time, he has carved more than eight sculptors of Lord Ganesha in different poses on the tip of pencils.

Recently, famous micro sculpture artist Sachin Sanghle also shared a similar video on Twitter. The artist went a step ahead and made a miniature swing on Lord Ganesha’s idol. Ganesha can be seen sitting on the swing, placed on the tip of the pencil. He even showed that the sculpted swing is working.

“Miniature Swing Ganesha! Was working on it for a long time… took do n’t-know-how-many-hours of time just to set the links free! A sigh of relief and satisfaction at the end to see Bappa swing like this,” he wrote in the caption of the post.

Netizens were left impressed with the art.
