Manchester: A new era has begun at Manchester United, with David Moyes starting his first official day as manager of the English champions.

Two months after being hired as successor to Alex Ferguson, Moyes was met by a bank of photographers when he arrived at United's training ground to start his planning ahead of the new season.

Moyes is already putting his stamp on his new role - on Monday, United announced he has brought in three coaches from former club Everton to join his backroom staff - Steve Round as assistant coach, Chris Woods as goalkeeping coach and Jimmy Lumsden as another coach.

Moyes' biggest decision could be made later this week, however, when he is likely to sit down with Wayne Rooney to discover if the England striker still wants to leave United after putting in a transfer request at the end of last season.
