Pro-wrestling Legend Responds to Brennan Johnson After His Unique Celebration
Matt Hardy acknowledged Brennan Johnson's celebration after scoring the match-winning goal against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson scored a late winner against Brighton in the Premier League. Following his late strike against the Seagulls, Johnson was seen pulling off the legendary pro-wrestling duo’s, ‘The Hardy Boyz’ signature pose.

The 22-year-old held down one of his fingers and pointed out two on his right hand, a signature pose of ‘the Hardy Boyz’.

The move did not go unnoticed as Hardy who reacted by posting a photo of himself doing the same pose along with his brother Jeff Hardy. Matt and Jeff Hardy were one of the most iconic duos of WWE known for their intensive matches with Edge-Christian and the Dudley Boys.

The post was even shared by the official social media handle of Tottenham on X, formerly Twitter. “The Hardy Coys,” read the post shared by the Premier League side.

Matt Hardy’s reaction came as a surprise to football fans.

“The Hardy Boyz and my team Tottenham. Never thought I’d see this crossover,” wrote a user.

“Yes! The crossover we never knew we needed,” commented another.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another said, “A fire crossover I didn’t expect.”

Brennan Johnson’s late goal in the sixth minute of the injury time helped Tottenham claim full three points against Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The visitors had claimed an early lead after a penalty was converted by Pascal Gross in the 17th minute. Tottenham scored the equaliser in the second half with Pape Matar Sarr finding the back of the net in the 61st minute.

It was Brennan Johnson who emerged as Tottenham’s saviour with a late winning goal in injury time. Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou talked about the fighting spirit of his players. “All my teams historically have done that because the clock shouldn’t dictate the way you play. You should always be looking for goals, even if you’re losing 1-0 or winning 1-0. I think it helps you in games like this when you are chasing the game,” Postecoglou was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

The terrific win against Brighton helped Tottenham in moving to the fourth spot in the Premier League standings. Fourth-placed Lilywhites have so far claimed 47 points from 24 Premier League games this season.
