Belgian international and Sunderland goal keeper Simon Mignolet is set to join Liverpool in a few days after spending two years with the Black Cats where he played 101 games since joining from Belgian club Sint-Truiden for £2m in June 2010.
As per www.skysports.com, Mignolet will join the Merseyside club after Liverpool agreed a fee in excess of £11m while www.bbc.co.uk quotes the fees at around £9m. This would be Brendon Rodgers second big signing after sealing the deal for 32-year-old Manchester City defender Kolo Toure on a free transfer.
Mignolet joining the Reds will leave Rodgers with a tricky situation of having two high profile keepers in his side with Spainard Pepe Reina already in the squad.
Though Reina was linked with move back to Barcelona, recent reports of Barca keeper Victor Valdes seeing out the remaining year of his contract means there may not be an opening at the Nou Camp.
