Manchester: Carlos Tevez could make his return to the Manchester City team within the next couple of weeks, although boss Roberto Mancini believes it will be a while before he’s 100 percent fit.
The Argentine hasn’t played for the Sky Blues since September following his bust-up with Mancini after the Italian accused the striker of refusing to play in their Champions League match with Bayern Munich.
Tevez spent the last five months in his native Argentina before returning to England in February after apologising to his manager for his actions. He has been trying to regain fitness in training and scored a goal for the club's reserves last week.
"Carlos needs to train again, maybe another 10 days," Mancini told reporters.
"I don't think that Carlos can play the first game and be 100% after five months. This is impossible."
Tevez is ineligible to play in the second leg of the Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, but the former Manchester United man could feature in City’s clash with Chelsea next week. And Mancini feels Tevez could play a crucial role in the club’s title bid.
"I think he could help us in the last two months," said the Italian boss.
