Checking via Apple's Website
Go to Apple's gift card balance website. You can use a mobile or desktop browser. This website can be used to check your balance for both Apple Store gift cards as well as App Store & iTunes gift cards. The website will vary depending on which country you live in. Sign in with your Apple ID. Enter the email address and password associated with your Apple ID and click or tap Sign In to sign in. If you don't currently have an Apple ID, you can easily create one. You must have an Apple ID to use this website. You may be asked to provide a code sent to one of your associated devices if you have two-factor authentication.
Enter the PIN associated with the gift card. Click the field that says "PIN" and type the PIN from the gift card. Note: The PIN is not the same as the card number. Physical gift cards: The PIN is on the back on the lower portion of the card insert. You need to scratch off the silver section to reveal the PIN. Digital gift cards: The PIN is in the email below the button that says "Redeem Now."
Click Check Balance. It's the blue button below the field where you enter the PIN. The next page displays your remaining balance next to "Balance."
Checking via Phone Call
Call 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753). If you have an Apple Store gift card, you can call this number to check your balance. Say "Check gift card balance" when prompted by the automatic phone service. Once you're connected to a customer service specialist, give them your gift card number. The operator will tell you how much money is left on your Apple Store gift card. You cannot check other types of Apple gift card balances with this phone number.
FAQ
Why does my gift card say it has no balance? It's possible that you already redeemed the gift card. If you have already redeemed the gift card, you'll need to check your iTunes balance. Once redeemed, you won't be able to transfer the balance, but you can return it to the original card if it's unused.
What's the difference between Apple gift cards? There are three types of gift cards you can purchase for Apple services: Apple gift cards, App Store/App Store & iTunes gift cards, and Apple Store gift cards. Apple gift card: Apple gift cards have a colorful Apple logo with a white background. These gift cards can be used to buy products, accessories, apps, music, or iCloud+ subscriptions. You can use them in an Apple Store, on apple.com, in the App Store, or in Apple Music. App Store/App Store & iTunes gift card: Most of these gift cards are blue with a white Apple logo on the front, but the design may vary. These cards can only be used in the App Store, in iTunes, or in Apple Music. Apple Store gift card: These gift cards are a solid color (silver, gold, white, or gray) with a monochromatic Apple logo on the front. These gift cards can only be used in the Apple Store or apple.com for products and accessories. Older gift cards: Apple has stopped selling Apple Music gift cards (with the Apple Music logo on the front) and iTunes Store gift cards, but these gift cards can still be redeemed if you have them.
What do I do if my gift card isn't working and I know I haven't redeemed it? Contact Apple's gift card support. You can do this by going to support.apple.com/giftcard or by calling 1-800-275-2273 (U.S. only) and saying "gift card" when prompted for a call reason.
