How to Delete a Weibo Account

Replace your personal information with false information. Though it’s not possible to delete your account, you can protect your identity by changing your name, address, and city to something other than your own. Here’s how to do it: Sign into Weibo. Click the gear icon at the top-right corner of the screen. Click Account settings. Click Edit next to the item you want to edit. Replace everything with the words ″Delete my account″ or whatever you wish. Save your changes.

Delete your profile pictures. Since you’re anonymizing your profile, you won’t want anyone to recognize you by your photos.

Delete all of your posts. To fully hide yourself on Weibo, remove everything you’ve ever posted by selecting the ″Delete″ option on each of your microblogs.

Post something political or controversial (but not illegal). Weibo has been known to delete accounts for being controversial or for expressing unpopular opinions. There’s a chance that sharing an unpopular belief will encourage Weibo to delete your account for you. Do this at your own risk. Make sure you are very familiar with the laws and customs in your area before posting anything on Weibo. Some users report that replacing your profile photo with a political or controversial message may encourage Weibo to cancel your account.
