Installing the Touchscreen Radio
Place an adhesive patch in the correct location on the dashboard and place the mount onto it. Ensure the surface is clean before attaching the adhesive patch for a secure hold. Use a clean cloth and a cleaning solution to thoroughly wipe down the area where the adhesive patch will be placed. Make sure the surface is completely dry before continuing. Peel the backing off the adhesive patch and carefully press it onto the cleaned area, applying firm pressure to ensure it sticks well. Once the adhesive patch is securely in place, align the mount with the patch and press it firmly onto the adhesive, making sure it is level and properly positioned.
Slide the touchscreen radio onto the mount. Align the grooves on the back of the radio with the slots on the mount. Gently slide the radio into the mount until it clicks into place. Ensure that the radio is firmly secured and does not wobble or move.
Plug in the power and aux cable onto the device found on the side. Locate the power and aux ports on the side of the radio. Insert the power cable into the corresponding port, ensuring a snug fit. Repeat this process for the aux cable. Double-check that both cables are securely connected and fully inserted.
Place the device onto the mount on the dashboard. Carefully lift the radio and position it over the mount. Align the radio with the mount and gently lower it until it rests securely on the mount. Double check that the radio is stable and properly aligned.
Plug the power cable into the cigarette lighter. Locate the cigarette lighter port in your vehicle. Insert the power cable’s plug into the port, ensuring it fits securely. This will provide power to the touchscreen radio.
Plug the aux cable into the car’s stereo. Find the aux input on your car’s stereo system. Insert the aux cable’s plug into this input, ensuring a firm connection. This will allow audio from the touchscreen radio to play through the car speakers.
Connecting the Reverse Camera
Plug the reverse camera wire into the device. Locate the input port for the reverse camera on the side of the touchscreen radio. Insert the reverse camera wire into this port, ensuring it is securely connected.
Tuck the reverse camera wire under the center console for neatness. Route the reverse camera wire under the center console to keep it out of sight. Use a flat tool or your fingers to gently tuck the wire along the edges of the console, ensuring it is hidden and does not interfere with any controls.
Run the wire under the driver seat and through the driver rear door while keeping a gap between the door and the wire to prevent pinching the wire. Route the wire under the driver seat, ensuring it is not caught on any mechanisms.
Tuck the reverse camera wire under the bedside plastic rail. Continue routing the wire along the vehicle’s interior, tucking it under the plastic rail on the side of the bed. Use a flat tool or your fingers to secure the wire in place.
Run the wire from the plastic bedside rail down below the gap between the tailgate and bed. Guide the wire from the bedside rail down to the gap between the tailgate and the bed. Make sure the wire is routed neatly and safely to avoid damage.
Plug the connector into the reverse camera. Attach the connector at the end of the wire to the reverse camera. Ensure the connection is secure and tight to avoid any disconnection.
Zip-tie the wires in a bundle so that they are out of the way. Use zip ties to bundle any excess wire and secure it to the vehicle’s frame or other stable points. This keeps the wires organized and prevents them from hanging loose.
Installing the Reverse Camera
Remove the taillight bolts. Use a suitable tool, such as a screwdriver or wrench, to unscrew the bolts securing the taillight. Carefully keep the bolts in a safe place for reinstallation.
Remove the taillight from the vehicle. Gently pull the taillight assembly away from the vehicle, being careful not to damage any wires or connectors attached to it.
Install the red power wire into the same socket as the reverse light, making sure it is on the positive side. Locate the socket for the reverse light. Insert the red power wire into the socket, ensuring it is connected to the positive terminal. Secure the connection to prevent it from coming loose.
Reinstall the taillight. Position the taillight assembly back into its original location. Align the mounting holes and reinsert the bolts. Tighten the bolts securely to hold the taillight in place.
Screw the reverse camera into the license plate bracket. Use the provided screws to attach the reverse camera to the license plate bracket. Ensure the camera is firmly secured and properly aligned for best visibility.
