Navigate to the email conversation in Mail. The mail app icon looks like a white envelope on a light blue gradient background that you'll find in either your Dock or on your Home screens. Don't tap on the email to open the entire thread.
Swipe left on the email. You'll see options to "Flag," "Mute," and "More" appear.
Tap More. The "More" menu will slide up from the bottom of your screen. If you opened the email, tap the arrow at the bottom right corner of the message and tap Mute from the pop-up menu.
Tap Mute. You'll see a bell icon with a line over it that indicates a message is muted. Unmute a thread by tapping "Unmute" in the "More" menu of an email. You can also change what happens to a muted message when you get it in Settings > Mail > Muted Thread Action. For example, you can set the muted thread message to archive when you get it. If you want to block a sender from sending you emails, tap the sender's email address from the email header and tap Block this Contact.
