How to Shop at Mall of America
How to Shop at Mall of America
Mall of America may almost be the biggest mall in America (as of the 2010 census), but with all its opportunities, there's a strong chance that people may find this mall to be a bit big. When they come to terms with realizing what they are missing, this article can tell them all about how they can shop at this mall.
Steps

Get to know the address for this mall, including its city and state. For pretty much any method you choose to get there, it's best to know its address. According to its official webpage, its address is 60 East Broadway, Bloomington, MN 55425 . If your plane flew in from the South runways of Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport (MSP), you might have seen the Mall of America from the air just before landing. Although it is more than a good sturdy walk (due to the road types you'd be walking on), it is a good 10-minute drive from the airport, and is only 5 blocks southwest of the Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport!

Get to know some of the viable options to get there. Whether you are transporting yourself by car, by bicycle, by ambulance (or similar), via the subway/light rail station located nearby (and has a stop right on the one floor inside the mall), or on foot, there's no way to miss this mall. Although Mall of America has several parking lots and parking garages located outside the major department store end stores for some of the levels, it also has a deep connection to Uber (who sponsors their rides from this mall) and Lyft who provide services to and from the mall during mall hours. Uber has a big presence in Mall of America, as it is a sponsor. However, Lyft has a district in the Minneapolis-Bloomington area as well. Via the Minneapolis Metro, you can take the blue line (its light rail line) or its red line (a bus line) to get to and from this mall, and with fares that can't be beaten (just $2 for a 2.5-hour limit), the Metro provides reliable transportation to and from the mall that far exceeds the benefits of driving a car when dealing with other factors. It is only a ninety-second walk from the entrance to the Mall of America Transit Center when walking after the light rail train pulls up to this stop on the line - a terminus for both lines.

Get yourself via one of those transportation methods to the mall. Especially in the case of taking a car or bicycle to the mall, it's important to know exactly in which lot and space you parked. There are over 12,500 tons of spaces all around the mall's perimeter., and losing your mind to find your car could be tough when the mall's announcements ask you to "go, go, go!"

Go to one of the entrances to the mall and walk in. Although the entrance most often shown in advertisements exists in real life (with its American flag Mall of America signage), there are also other entrances from various spots around the mall, and from within several spots within the department stores and directly into hallways connecting it's shoppers to Nickelodeon's Universe section - its theme park inside the mall.

Recognize the layout of Mall of America. The Mall of America is shaped like a rectangle, and a sprawling entertainment venue at its lowest level - based on Nickelodeon Universe. The mall has several map boards located throughout the mall, and there's even a website and mobile app for most devices to help you connect to stores when necessary. There are ample signs throughout the mall guiding you to places, and plenty of accessibility features including several elevators - both inside and outside of the department stores - and many escalators - getting people moving throughout its four levels. The mall's major department stores include Macy's, Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack, Target, and JCPenney. This mall formerly also contained a Sears, but that folded when the brand went bankrupt and belly-up. There is a hotel across South Street, adjacent to the Mall.

Wear super-comfortable walking shoes, as there's a lot of ground to cover. According to the Mall of America website, each layer of this mall is over 0.57 square miles, so super-comfortable shoes are a must.

Make sure to bring lots of cash with you, if you plan on shopping a lot.

Try to do some research (or through the filtered list here to find out exactly where to find the exact store you are looking for. Know exactly where this store is located in the mall, in which band, and in which level it is in.

Go to this mall. If traveling in a car, park in the designated parking spaces nearest the store you are looking to buy from.

Go through each of the stores that seem to interest your lifestyle.

Recognize that on one level of this mall, in one corner, you'll find an area of stores that make up this mall's "Food Court" section. This section is located on the 3rd level nearest the south side of the mall.

Be prepared to shop for a long time, or to shop there for a few consecutive days. There are endless possibilities of stores to shop at/from when you visit.

Recognize just some of the types of stores this mall contains. Between all the specialty stores the department stores, and food, entertainment, and clothing stores, this place has it all. It even has its own Bridal Chapel (although the chapel can be used for other things as well, just done with special permission). If you've seen a store at your local mall, there's a strong potential that this store has its own branch at Mall of America.

What's your reaction?
