How to Transfer iTunes Credit to Someone Else
How to Transfer iTunes Credit to Someone Else
Do you want to gift your iTunes credit or balance to someone else? Unfortunately, you cannot transfer your iTunes balance to another account. However, if you have an Apple, App Store, or iTunes gift card that has been redeemed but unused, you can request to have the balance placed back into the card. At this point, it can be re-gifted and redeemed by another account. This wikiHow will show you how to contact Apple through live chat, phone, and email to reinstate a gift card balance to gift to someone else.
Things You Should Know
  • Apple does not allow users to transfer existing iTunes credit from one account to another.
  • If you have unused gift card credit, you can request to return the balance to the original card by contacting Apple support.
  • After returning the balance to the original gift card, the balance can be redeemed by another account.

Can you transfer iTunes credit?

No—you cannot transfer your iTunes credit to another person. Existing balance and credit in your Apple account cannot be transferred to another user while it's in your account. If your balance was redeemed from a gift card and you haven't spent the original amount, you can request to have the balance returned to the original gift card. After replacing the balance, you'll be able to give the gift card to someone else. The new recipient will then be able to redeem the gift card balance on their own account. To do this, you must contact Apple to request a return of the balance to the original gift card, and the full balance must be unspent. You can always check an Apple gift card balance. iTunes credit cannot be traded in for cash or added to your Apple Pay cash balance.
