Mahesh Babu’s mother Indira Devi breathed her last today, September 28, after a prolonged illness. Indira Devi, the wife of actor Krishna, was hospitalised in the city days ago. She was 70. After the last rites, Mahesh Babu shared a never-seen-before photograph of his mother on social media to pay his tribute. He dropped a series of red hearts along with the picture.

Fans took to the comment section of the actor’s post to send him love and offer condolences. One fan wrote, “Stay Strong Anna" while another shared, “Stay strong Mahesh. Mom is with you always."

Mahesh Babu performed the last rites of his mother a while back. Several pictures and videos of him, his wife Namrata Shirodkar and daughter Sitara from the funeral emerged online, earlier today.

The actor and his family have been receiving heartfelt condolences from fans as well as celebrities from the film fraternity. Vijay Deverakonda, Venkatesh, Nagarjuna, Rana Daggubati, Lakshmi Manchu, Mohan Babu, among others attended the last rites of Indira Devi at Mahesh Babu’s house in Hyderabad.

Mahesh Babu’s sister Manjula Ghattamaneni also penned a moving tribute to her mother. Calling her mother as her Guru, foundation, and her heart, Manjula said, “Your love has been my protection. You are the biggest influence in my life."

In the long note, she highlighted how her mother’s spirit of “selfless giving and sacrifice" is beyond words. She wrote, “I am very grateful for all that you have done for us mom. I can never thank you enough. Your spirit of selfless giving and sacrifice is beyond any words. We are blessed to have you as our mother and we are indebted to you for everything you have done for us."

Extending love and prayers for the further journey, Manjula added, “Even though we are apart, I know you will always protect us with your unconditional love.You will continue to live in our hearts forever."

Earlier this year, Mahesh Babu’s elder brother Ramesh Babu passed away due to an age-related illness.
