Censor Board Cuts Some Scenes From Chandramukhi 2, Issues U/A Certificate

Chandramukhi 2 is one of the most awaited films which is set to hit the theatres this Friday, September 28. The sequel has completed all the paperwork and has acquired a certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). According to reports by ETimes, the film has received a U/A certificate and the film’s run time has been also locked. It was initially submitted with a run time of 2 hours and 52 minutes but the censor board has chopped multiple portions of the film due to its vulgarity and other reasons.

The film will now have a run time of 2 hours and 37 minutes. The P Vasu directorial features Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles with Lakshmi Menon, Subhiksha, Srusthi Dange, Ravi Mariye, Vadivelu, Suresh Menon, Raadhika Sarathkumar and Mahima Nambiar in supporting roles. The music of the film has been scored by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani.

Chandramukhi 2 was initially supposed to be released on the big screens on September 15 but it got delayed. In a recent press conference, director P Vasu reportedly revealed that around 450 shots from the film went missing which was the reason for postponement from September 15. He added that he did not know what to do when he learned about the missing footage. He also shared that around 150 technicians were searching for the shots for 4 days and later retrieved them. But they couldn’t edit the shots in time which led to the delay of the release by 15 days.

Ahead of the release of the film, actor Raghava Lawrence met Rajinikanth to seek blessing from the superstar and congratulate him on the success of Jailer. In the pictures that he posted on X, he can be seen touching Rajinikanth’s feet for blessings. “Hi friends and fans, Today I met my Thalaivar and Guru Rajinikanth to wish him for Jailer’s blockbuster success and got blessings for Chandramukhi 2 release on September 28th. I’m so happy. Thalaivar is always great. Guruve Saranam,” he tweeted.

Chandramukhi 2 focuses on the story of Chandramukhi who becomes a court dancer in the kingdom of Vettaiyan Raja.
