CHENNAI: IIT students have done it again. This time in management studies. An IIT-Madras graduate, Ajinkya Deshmukh, is among nine MBA aspirants to have scored 100 percent in CAT 2011.  A number of high scorers in the Common Admission Test, the results of which were released on Wednesday, are students from IITs across the country—three of them from IIT-Madras. Besides Deshmukh, two others—R Prabhu Dhev and Sai Pramod—scored 99.99 percent.“I believe the minor changes in the CAT examination pattern has worked to my favour,” says Deshmukh, who completed his Computer Science Engineering degree from IIT-M in 2010. Deshmukh, who took up a job after his degree while at the same time preparing for CAT, says, “I am actually excited about going back to college after gaining two years’ professional experience. It will help me understand better about how things work in the corporate world.”Like Deshmukh, Dhev too has been working while preparing for CAT. On his CAT experience he says, “I went for a preparatory course at TIME (coaching centre) and solved a lot of mock papers, which really helped me.”“However, what actually reduced my stress and improved by performance was the fact that I got a job in Deutsche Bank through IIT campus placement. I had nothing to worry as I had a good job. So I performed without fear and succeeded,” says Dhev, who is from Mayavaram near Mayiladuthurai.
