Excise Minister K Babu has launched 1298 Ambulance service in Aluva. Along with the launch, a medical camp was also held at St Xavier’s Rajkot Bhavan, near Piaggio showroom at Pulimchodu junction.
Inaugurating the launch and the medical camp, the Minister said that sensing the need of the hour 1298 Ambulance has quickly responded to the medical need. Hospitals, other institutions and patients will be greatly benefited from the initiative.
To cater to the need of equipped ambulances across Kerala, Ziqitza Health Care Ltd (ZHL) is expanding its outsourcing of advanced life-support ambulance service to hospitals and other institutions after it was successfully introduced in Kochi.
The ambulances are equipped with the modern medical equipment like Defibrillator Ventilator, Pulse Oxy-meter, Cardiac Monitor, ECG, Suction Machine, Resuscitation kit and Syrije pump.
In addition patient transfer facilities like collapsible stretcher, scoop stretcher, spine board, canvas stretcher and stair chair cum wheel chair are also available.
Over 200 people attended the medical camp. Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, BMI, ECG, and dental checkups were conducted along with gynaecological checkups.
The initiative was supported in the medical camp by Dr Tony’s Eye Hospital, CKP Hospital, Karothukuzhi Hospital, Dr Kurian’s Ortho Dental Clinic and Dr Mathews (Dentistry).
“The 1298 Ambulance service will provide hospitals with custom-designed ambulances and trained manpower,” said Nijil Ibrahimkutty, Regional Head of 1298 Ambulance Service. KP Dhanapalan MP, Aluva municipal chairman M D Jacob, standing committee chairman Latheef Puzhithura, municipal councillor Jebi Mather Hisham, former municipal chairman MO John, Bindu Manjooran of Ziqitza Health Care and 1298 Operation Manager KR Balachandran were present.
