A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a man when she was alone at her home in Cheta village of the district, police said on Saturday.
Saranjeet Singh of Nayadagriya village raped the girl when she was alone in her house on Friday afternoon. She later narrated the incident to her father, who then lodged a complaint with police on Saturday morning, Sub-Inspector Ashok Parihar said.
On the complaint of the victim's father, police lodged a case against the accused under section 376 of IPC and section 3, 4 of POCSO Act, he said, adding the accused was yet to be arrested.
The victim was sent for medical examination today and the report is awaited, he said, adding that the police is investigating the matter.
