A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped in the Mundi area in Khandwa, the police said on Monday. The victim was playing outside her house with her brother on Sunday when the accused, Rahul Rajput (20), an unemployed youth, took her away forcefully and allegedly raped her, they said.

The girl's parents reported the matter to the Mundi police following which the youth was taken into custody.
Preliminary medical examination of the victim established rape, the police said. The accused has been booked under relevant section of the IPC and some provisions of the SC/ST Act.
