21 Moolampilly families to get title deeds

KOCHI: The Moolampilly Coordination Committee demanded that the government allotted fund on a rental basis for the rehabilitated families who received land with no basic facilities like electricity, water supply and road in it. It lauded the government’s move to provide title deeds to 21 families who were not rehabilitated in the first phase of the package.The coordination committee members said that 21 families who were not included in the first phase of the package will be given land title deeds by Revenue Minister Thiuvanchoor Radhakrishnan at a function at Moolampilly parish hall on Tuesday.The committee demanded the government that the tax levied from the package money allotted to the rehabilitated families should be returned,  including the interest rate. They also sought separate fund on a rental basis to be given to the evictees as the newly given land had no basic facilities of electricity, water supply, and road connection.The evictees should also be granted housing loan at a lesser interest rate for constructing houses.The prominent people who worked for the implementation of the Moolampilly package will be felicitated on Tuesday. The programme will be organised jointly by the various Samara Samitis which conducted agitation for allotting separate land for the Moolampilly evictees.
