The intimation regarding “not permitted” was conveyed to the college authorities only in the last week of July.Sources said the third batch of students, who have been selected by the CENTAC and were eager to join the BAMS course, were left in the lurch as they have no option, since admission in other courses was already over, other than wait for the government to take steps for getting permission.The sources pointed out that the faculty members were posted well before the time of inspection, but the panel, which inspected the college, rejected the contention pointing that they were not appointed.The college sources are hopeful of getting the permission from the CCIM by the end of this month like it happened in the case of the government medical college in Puducherry. The parents of the students are probing legal option in case permission is not given by the CCIM.The college, which was functioning in the arts block of the Mahe government college, was yet to get a new building.Meanwhile, the first and second year students were on protest path demanding new building for the college and adequate lab facilities.
