ALUVA: Five students sustained injuries when the bus in which they were travelling turned turtle in the NH after ramming into the road median at Dessom Junction here at 10.45 pm. The injured were admitted to CA Hospital here. The seriously injured Aby Punnoose,20, was rushed to Medical Trust Hospital, Ernakulam.The vehicular traffic was paralysed following the accident. The police and Fire Service personnel from Aluva and Angamaly rushed to the spot and initiated the rescue operations. Around 47 mechanical engineering students and three staff members of Saintgits Engineering College, Pathamuttom, in Kottayam were on their way to Hyderabad on a study tour when the mishap occurred. The driver, Dipu, 27, of Chembu, Vaikom, and student Kiran kumar also sustained serious injuries.
