HYDERABAD: Cracking down on fraudsters who are duping innocent people in the guise of providing jobs abroad, South Zone police here on Monday arrested seven persons in separate cases and recovered 24 passports and other documents.In the first case, Dabeerpura police arrested four persons, including a woman for duping people on the pretext of sending them to Saudi Arabia. The accused are identified as Shahnaz and Mohd Ijaz, both agents from Chandrayangutta, 60-year-old Ali Raza Hassan, a social worker and a travel businessman, Naushad Raza, both hailing from Noorkhan Bazaar. A resident of Dabeerpura, Abdul Ghouse had given Rs 65,000 and his original passport while another person gave Rs 70,000 to the accused for getting a job abroad. As the accused failed to send them, the victims asked them to give back their money. Instead of giving back the amounts, the accused threatened them of dire consequences. Police seized nine original passports from the accused. Meanwhile, Hussainialam police nabbed two brothers, Hamed Zubedi and Zahed Zubedi who run Millennium Travels at Shalibanda. With the help of their associates, the brothers cheated an insurance agent from West Godavari district, Shiva Krishna and 12 others promising to arrange visa to Afghanistan to work in a US firm. The brothers collected Rs 1.40 lakh from each victim. "The accused did not even have a licence to run the agency,'' South Zone DCP Manish Kumar Sinha said. In total, 14 original passports was recovered from the accused. Rein Bazar police also arrested one Faqruddin, a resident of of Toli Chowki, on the charge of duping a person of Rs 30,000 on the pretext of sending the latter to France on a job visa.
