Nine candidates on Tuesday filed nominations for the first phase of Chhattisgarh Assembly polls taking the total number of candidates having done so to 21. Two Congress leaders - Daleshwar Sahu and Mohan Markam - filed their nominations from Dongargaon and Kondagaon seats respectively, Chief Electoral Officer Sunil Kujur told reporters.
Other candidates who filed their nominations include Bhanu Pratap Verma (Shiv Sena) from Khairagarh and Saif Naseem Kureshi (CPI) from Jagdalpur.
