Achieve happiness: Vedanta
Achieve happiness: Vedanta

How to verify Sat-Chit-Anand Swaroop: You are sat-swaroop or existence chit-swaroop or consciousness and anand swaroop or bliss. This has been established through scriptures, Guru and ones own experience. Any theory has to be put to three tests. If we restrict our evidence to scriptures alone we find them speaking in different voices. If we go by the word of Guru, there are so many who contradict each other and each one claims that what he preaches is the truth. If we go only by one’s own experience, every one puts forth his own experience as the true one. So only the theory which is supported by scriptures up-held by the Guru and is also in harmony with one’s own experience should be accepted as true. Vedanta tells us that to achieve lasting happiness one has to rise above duality. All the worldly activeness are based on duality yours and mine, All the welfare schemes, all the ‘isms’ of thousand of years have not succeeded in generating happiness to everyone all the time.

Whatever happiness you find in this world of duality comes with pain, suffering and fear. Moreover the happiness is short lived and the body, through which this kind of happiness is enjoyed, will it self perish. You will find complete and lasting happiness when you find that you are beyond duality and beyond joy and misery and then you realise that you are blissful.

Reason for Bandage: Sufferings and bondage are caused by the sense of ‘I’ and ‘mine’. The root cause of this ‘I’ and ‘Mine’ is ajnana or ignorance of one’s own true nature. Jiva has forgotten who it is and calls the body as “I” and “mine” having identified oneself with body, the only way out is to abandon that idea as an aberration and assert yourself and engage yourself in nididyasana or fix the mind on one thought, “I am the perfect Atman beyond all dualities” this leads to the state of perfect bliss.

Chasing a Mirage: You think that you are small and insignificant. And by increasing your upadhis or possessions, you think you can become great and happy. Even if all your upadhis or possessions reach Himalayas heights, you will be neither great nor happy.

So the belief that possessions lead to happiness is a mirage. Realise this truth and give up this intoxication for toiling after possessions. Give up identifying your self with them and accept that you are Para-Brahman and achieve fulfillment in this very life.

The true nature of human being: We can decide on the nature of human being by our instinct behaviour. You may have occasions when you assure, your friend that why are you afraid of when I am there? Every one feels that  he is still young even though he has become old. This instinct behaviour proves that you are that deathless Atman.
