Mumbai: How often have you felt restless during a movie interval, what with the same old advertisements playing out in the theatre? Well, multiplex chain, Adlabs, has found a way out, with a short and sweet film called Crime Time.
The Adlabs theatres have a plan to keep the audience firmly seated and entertained, even during the breaks.
The company recently introduced a series of funny, short animated films called Crime Time that revolve around an unnamed goofy criminal, all to be aired during the interval period.
What's more, these films are audio agnostic, which means, they are driven entirely by visuals with no voice over.
COO Adlabs Cinemas, Tushar Dhingra says, "We wanted to build something different in an already crowded market where we deal with the same software."
Produced by a Los Angeles based animation studio, Studio Future Thought, these films will be replaced by a new set every month and will not be more than two minutes in duration.
If some revenue is lost by not playing advertisements, it's made up for with the response of the audience.
"The first response has been good. People don't expect it, so they like it. Now they will soon begin to expect it so we will keep updating it," says Dhingra.
So next time you settle down with your popcorn, there'll be a goofy criminal to keep you company and tickle your funny bone.
