Two days after IAS couple Sanjeev Khirwar and his wife Rinku Dugga were transferred following misuse of stadium, another photo of an IAS officer visiting flood-hit areas in Assam’s Cachar district have gone viral on social media.

In the photos and videos shared on social media platforms, Jalli can be seen walking barefoot through the muddled waters in the flood-affected area and interacting with the people devastated by the natural calamity. A photo was shared on Twitter by Awanish Sharan, a 2009-batch IAS officer posted in Assam. He applauded her effort by tweeting a “folded hands” emoji.

Many people on the internet praised her for reaching out to those who have been affected, and her commitment to service. Cachar has been one of the areas worst affected from the extreme floods and thousands of people have been displaced losing their houses and property.

Recently, Khirwar, Delhi’s Principal Secretary (Revenue), reportedly used to take his dog for a walk at the Thyagraj Stadium, leading athletes and coaches at the Delhi government-run stadium to complain about being forced to wrap up training earlier than usual, by 7 pm. The incident triggered a social media storm with politicians slamming the bureaucrat for “misusing his authority” after which the IAS officers were transferred from Delhi.

Delhi Transport Commissioner Rides State Bus

Delhi Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra took a ride in a state bus on Saturday to take stock of issues being faced by commuters, a move which was lauded by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot. Kundra took to Twitter and posted his selfie travelling in a government bus. Kejriwal lauded the effort and said it was “a rare sight”. Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot also praised Kundra’s effort. “Good to see the commissioner of transport in Delhi Ashish Kundra travelling in a bus,” he tweeted.

Kerala IAS officers carrying rice sacks

In August 2018, two IAS officers in Kerala were spotting carrying big rice sacks on their shoulders at a relief camp while the state was reeling under intense floods. The viral photo shows Kerala Food Safety Commissioner MG Rajamanikyam and Wayanad sub-collector NSK Umesh unloading a truck at the relief camp of Wayanad Collectorate.

Manipur Officer Lauded For Flood Relief In Waist-Deep Water

In June 2018, a picture of an IAS officer from Manipur standing in waist-deep water during flood relief operations had gone viral and earned him praise and respect. The picture was widely shared on social media, with many praising the IAS officer for his dedication. Manipur’s Water Resources Minister Letpao Haokip was also present during the relief operation and was hailed for being a hero.

Bihar officer Inayat Khan Praised for kind gesture

31-year-old IAS officer Inayat Khan was lauded after she decided to adopt a girl child of two CRPF troopers, killed during terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district in February 2019. Khan, who was posted as the District Magistrate of Sheikhpura in Bihar, said that she would adopt one daughter each of CRPF soldiers Ratan Kumar Thakur and Sanjay Kunar Sinha.
