BANGALORE: An exciting new dance contest, Dance For Me Lemon Gumpu with actor Allu Arjun was held at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall recently. Boys and girls got their dancing shoes out and got ready to set the stage on fire, as Bangalore witnessed top fifteen teams from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala battle it out for the spots in the Grand Finale. The top teams from the Bangalore regional finale, along with the top teams from Chennai and Hyderabad regional finale will present their dancing talent to actors Allu Arjun and Simbu aka STR to win a grand prize of ` 51 lakh.This event was judged by well known dancers Lourd Vijay and Kirthi. Both the judges specialise in salsa and have performed at various Indian and International shows. The teams were shortlisted on the basis of choreography as well as facial expression, body language, costumes and song selection. Expressing his thoughts about Lemon Gumpu contest, dancer Lourd Vijay said, “Dance for me is a great initiative and I got to see some wonderful talent. It was an amazing experience to see the teams put up so much effort and perform with passion and immense talent.”Lemon Gumpu gave all dance fans from Bangalore a platform to present their dancing talent. The two teams who made it to the Grand Finale were Team Agnee and Team B Boying.Team Agnee, a bunch of IT professionals and winners of the event said, “We are really happy that Lemon Gumpu has given all dance fans from Bangalore a platform to showcase their dancing talent and we are one among them.” Besides those teams selected, the other teams also have another reason to feel good, since they have a chance to make it to the Grand Finale through a wild card entry, an online voting by consumers.The seven teams will undergo a specialised dance workshop in Chennai before they dance off against each other at the Grand Finale. The winner of the competition will be awarded ` 51 Lakhs and the other six teams will win Ipods and X-box.
