CHENNAI: The CCB has registered another case against Sasikala’s relative Ravanan following a complaint from a Vellore resident to the police commissioner on January 11. In his complaint, Bhuvanesan said he approached Revenue Minister K A Sengottaiyan’s assistant Arumugam in order to get permit for sand quarrying. He claimed that Arumugam told him that only Ravanan could get the job done and took him to meet him.During the meeting, Ravanan said it would take Rs 5 crore to obtain the permit. On November 20, Bhuvanesan claimed, he paid Rs 2 crore, as first installment, to Arumugam, who assured that he would hand over the cash to Ravanan.However, when he did not receive the permit, Bhuvanesan met Arumugam and demanded his money back. The minister’s assistant turned him away. The CCB has registered a case.
